But what exactly are we talking about?<\/p>\n<p>It's not just a diary. No, no, and no! It's a much more powerful tool: a notebook, a notepad, or any other medium that lets you write down your routines and those little extras (++) day after day.<\/p>\n<p>In a hectic world full of (often pointless) tasks, keeping a <strong>routine diary<\/strong> is an exceptional tool for staying organised, productive, less stressed, and above all <strong>focus on the long term<\/strong>. This is where the<strong>cumulative effect<\/strong> comes into play, a concept I'll explore in a later article.<\/p>\n<p>This article explains how this tool can transform your daily life.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>1. Improving productivity<\/h3>\n<p><strong>\"Less procrastination, more 'I'm done!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hold a <strong>routines ++ notebook<\/strong> helps you structure your day. By writing down your tasks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You create a clear plan.<\/li>\n<li>You think about prioritising tasks.<\/li>\n<li>You adjust your goals over time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Some people prefer to fill it out in the morning, but personally, I do it in the morning. <strong>in the evening before going to bed<\/strong>. It gives me peace of mind for the next day. I don't have to think about it when I wake up, I just apply it!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>2. Stress reduction<\/h3>\n<p><strong>\"Why stress when you can tick?\"<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Knowing exactly what you have to do reduces anxiety. You no longer need to mentally remind yourself of each task. This frees up your mind.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The pleasure of ticking off completed tasks<\/strong> is an incredible motivational boost. Every little cross becomes a victory, even on the busiest days.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>3. This wasn't the case before, but <strong>changing priorities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>4. Better Time Management<\/h3>\n<p><strong>\"The most costly expense is wasted time\".<\/strong> - Theophrastus<\/p>\n<p>With a <strong>routines ++ notebook<\/strong>You can visualise the time needed for each task and plan better. You can even identify your moments of procrastination and do something about them.<\/p>\n<p>For example: writing down the number of pages read each day helps me to keep up with my reading.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>5. Developing self-discipline<\/h3>\n<p><strong>\"Discipline: the art of saying later to procrastination<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Writing down your daily routines develops your self-discipline. It's visual and simple: either the box is ticked or it isn't.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Advice :<\/strong> notes specific tasks. For example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2705 \"30 minutes jogging\".<\/li>\n<li>\u2705 \"10 minutes jumping rope + 15 minutes boxing\".<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Don't just write down \"sport\". The more precise you are, the less procrastination you'll have.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>6. Mental Clarity<\/h3>\n<p><strong>\"Bring clarity to your mind, and all existence will open up to you\".<\/strong> - Sadhguru<\/p>\n<p>Writing down your tasks helps you to clarify your goals and priorities. It reduces the feeling of being overwhelmed and helps you stay focused.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tip:<\/strong> take 5 minutes each evening to write down your tasks for the following day.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>7. Creativity and Motivation<\/h3>\n<p><strong>\"Creative ideas: write them down before they fly away\".<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Your <strong>routines ++ notebook<\/strong> can also become a space for jotting down creative ideas, personal thoughts or inspirations.
